About the Event
After many months away the weekly Frititi dance class is finally back at the Brixton Rec each Tuesday. Join us by embracing the live sounds of drums and learning different dance styles from across the African continent. Let your body move, and be inspired by cultures passed down the generations which are rooted in their land and its people. Classes are led by master drummer and dancer Nii Tagoe who has spent a lifetime learning, living & breathing the rhythm and spirit of each dance. Though he will be away occasionally, that energy always carries us as we connect with Mama Africa and our ancestors. Let's see where the energy takes us each week.
We treat the health and safety of our community with care so in light of COVID-19, we have put a safety plan in place. Each week you will need to register and sign a health and safety declaration. Registration will be open on a weekly basis. Please book below to continue. We will confirm your place once we have reviewed your info. Following guidance allows us to carry on doing what we love in safety.
You can download our COVID-19 Safety Policy & Procedures here.
As we will be following the 2 meters social distancing rules class capacity is limited. Everyone has to book individually. Only book if you are serious about attending and book one pass for yourself. If the class is full you will be added to the waiting list.
Although registration is free you will need to pay £10 class fee on the door.
We look forward to dancing with you soon.
